  • What: The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, Simulation and Training Technology Center will announce the first ever Virtual Worlds Challenge. Federal agencies are searching for innovative ways to utilize virtual space to conduct training and analysis. The top three winners in each group will receive a trip to Orlando to demonstrate their submittal at the 2010 GameTech Conference.
  • When: Thursday, 17 Sept, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. EST, 8 am Second Life time.
  • Where: Second Life, Team Orlando Amphitheater, Team Orlando (24,113,26)

The challenge is open to every individual, group or organization. Submissions can be as simple as a card game to teach Arabic numbering or as complex as a nuclear reactor management trainer. Any free and openly available virtual world can be used. Entries must be submitted through the website by 15 November 2009. Entries will be evaluated by various U.S. government agencies.
