Welcome to the OpenVCE Portal. This is an experimental virtual collaboration area for a knowledge sharing and task-centric community.
The environment currently includes:
- OpenVCE Portal - This gateway and task/process/activity support to the community including News, Shared Links, FAQ and Tutorials
- OpenVCE Ning Group - For Social Network, Communities, Forum, Blogs, Resource Sharing and Calendar
- OpenVCE Twitter Feed - For immediate status updates
- Second Life Meeting Room - For 3D Meeting Space (Opensim under review as alternative)
The selection of a single mechanism for each major function in the environment has been made from amongst these platforms. However, more facilities are available in each platform on a test basis via direct links. As the requirements for the communities supported are established, comparisons of alternative approaches and platforms will be made.
