To try the applet, go here:
- When you press "Login" or type your first message, you'll be asked for a name. That name will be used to identify your messages and as an agent name in the I-X communications server.
- Type return to send a chat message.
- If your own message appears in the upper text area after you sent it, then it has gone to the server and then to the chat-service agent, then back again via the server to you.
- You will not see any chat that was sent before your first message. So say "Hi" immediately.
- Messages that crossed a world boundary, such as from Second Life out to your applet, will appear as: "Chat Relay: Real Sender: Message contents".
- You can "register" using a tool from the applet's "Tools" menu. This is not normally necessary, but it can be used to restart your applet's communication with the server if there have been problems.
