The first meetings and events using OpenVCE facilities have now started. The openvce.net facilities include a mixture of a web site with social networking facilities for the communities supported, along with link to virtual works meeeting and collaboration areas.
The initial Virtual Collaboration Environment (VCE) is being provided using facilities on the Virtual University of Edinburgh (Vue) in Second Life.
Engage | Invest | Exploit | 2009 (EIE09) - Guy Kawasaki Talk
A talk at Engage | Invest | Exploit | 2009 held in Edinburgh and featuring Guy Kawasaki as the keynote speaker was relayed to an international audience on 29th April 2009. An unrelated, coincidental, but unfortunate hardware failure of a Joint Academic network (JANet) switch in the UK meant that all users lost the vidoe feeds from the meeting for petriods of the talk. But otheruise, the facilities operformed as expected, and participants completibng the after event questionnaire rated their experience of good or useful or very useful. Workshop on Service Oriented Architecture for Analysis of Socio-Cultural Systems (SORASCS 2009)

OpenVCE Technical Meeting 1 (MEET-1)
An initial round table discussion is being held in the OpenVCE I-Room on 19th May 2009 to discuss OpenVCE collaboration facilioties and platform choices.
